WINDOW INTO OUR CLASSROOM:
The children worked in groups this afternoon to try and create their own classification system like Carl Linnaeus did in the 1700s.
It was a tricky task, which required a lot of teamwork to be successful. How did you feel you got on?

We had a good discussion around negative numbers this morning - the class were good at exploring the numbers on a number line but struggled a little bit more when the above word problem came up...
Have a go at writing some of your own problems and solving them, like we did in class today, to see if you can consolidate your understanding. Get Singing encourages children across the UK to sing together in schools for BBC Music Day on Thursday 26 September.
We made sure we were singing today! The class sounded really good when they were rehearsing for their harvest performance next Friday...Mrs. Clements has been leading this with the class and it is all looking really great!
This afternoon we tried to capture out understanding of different animal types... how did you get on?
Some children were really able to talk well about the new things they learned and the new curiosities they had to find out more...
In our assembly today we talked about responsibility and the importance of taking on responsibilities so we can contribute to be part of a team.
We encouraged each other to think about how we are being responsible for our actions within our school community.
In class we are looking at the work of Van Gogh, and in particular the famous 'Starry Night' Image.

Today we made up our own enquiries and tried to answer them... some of the calculations and number work was fantastic!
